French vowels
Something I've been wondering...
How and when did French develop its nasal vowels and other vowel sounds which Spanish and Italian (the only other two Romance languages I'm vaguely familiar with) both lack?
Was it Germanic influence, something else, or both, maybe?

2 Small Questions
First, how does one create an account for and log into [la jbotcan]?
Second, I was just wondering how to say the equivalent of English "in order to..." or French "por..." in Lojban. Would one insert something like a sumti tcita into the bridi, and/or could one fill in a "under conditions..." slot? If there was no such a slot already present in the bridi, what sumti tcita would be inserted for this reason?

Dissection quesiton
Ok... most people in their high school career had the wonderful experience of dissecting an animal for science class. My biology class had to do this today, and I was forced to participate on the grounds that if I didn't do it, my grade would drop from an A to a C-. Sooooo I cut open the bugger, though I got out of the project halfway for an assembly.
The main point to this post is: would dissection of a dead (and disgustingly preserved) frog, squid, pig, or any other creature be "un-Buddhist"? I know hurting and/or killing any sentient being is just plain out wrong, but what if said sentient being is days deceased and very cheaply embalmed?

'Who' in Norwegian
I'm trying to teach myself Norwegian, and now I've got a question that I really can't answer myself and the dictionary doesn't help much either. Could someone explain to me how to translate the word 'who' in sentences like 'the man who was here'? I've been thinking about hvem, but I'm not sure if that's correct...

Seeking Writers
I recently constructed a page on blogspot in which Im hoping to expand into something greater. Its titled "Theoretically Speaking"
So far I have only posted 1 blog which I believe is entertaining as well as informative but could use a lil more. Im hoping to find some writers who are passionate about their theories on life.
